Ian Nearhos - ReWire Ableton Live (May 2006 Mix)
Another mix hot to the upload and ready for the download! Ian Nearhos is a fixture of the Brisbane electronic music scene and has a monster resume… a short list of credentials includes festival mainstay DJ, former editor of ITM, promoter of Red Tronic events, long time all round DJ and short time Ableton ninja. Short time sure, but a busy time indeed. This mix is another of his Ableton mixes which sees Ian move further from reliance on turntables and CDJ’s as he gathers excited momentum about the possibilities of the format. I watched Ian go from Ableton n00b and soon exceed the tutelage of our mutual friend Leo “Waldorf” Hede (who is ex-Statler & Waldorf and currently the other half of the act Segue, along with myself). Ian and i did a DJ Vs Live Act themed set for an ITM party under the moniker “Player 2″ which saw an electro theme throughout a mix that incorporated as much sampling and track slicing as it did straight mixing. Ian is definately at the fore-front of this aesthetic in Brisbane at present. Its also a very good mix. You might just like to even listen to as per the link below. Also as per something, in this case the previous mix, feel free to leave comments below or get in touch via the contact form. Enjoy!Â
